It is good to see that Siouxsie's older material still rises to the top. And I am deeply grateful to see that "There's a Planet in My Kitchen" came in dead last. I won a bet with my housemate on that, and I will think of you all as I drink my winnings. I never miss an opportunity to cast my personal particulars into the vast socialogical mix, so here are my demographic two cents. I am the ripe old age of thirty, and I first saw Siouxsie and the lads in 1983 on the "juju" tour. She was opening for David Bowie, if memory serves me correctly, at the Hollywood Bowl. She came out on stage, rather shyly I thought, and that was it: I was hooked. That was the first of 23 concerts I have seen with her. In spite of how that sounds, I do like to think I do indeed "have a life." I have been to college and grad school already, and I just left active duty service with the Army as an interpreter. I am a native Californian, but I went to school in England and Switzerland, and I am now looking for a little niche job somewhere within the vast military/industrial complex that surrounds Washington DC. When not listening to Siouxsie, I enjoy Bauhaus, Joy Division/New Order, Ministry, the Dead Kennedys, the Clash, KMFDM, the Cure, the Smiths, Tones on Tail, Sonic Youth, Pretenders, Nine Inch Nails, along with good, hard-core industrial techno; anything to stay out of some marketing executive's demographic worksheet. Waiting for the Flash to Crash, Tom North
